On September 13th 2022 the Michelin Guide announced its inaugural list of Toronto restaurants that received a Michelin Star. The gala evening was held at the Evergreen Brickworks during which the winners were announced. Among the winners we are proud to have a number of Italian Restaurants that have excelled in the Toronto culinary scene:
Don Alfonso 1890 received one Michelin Star
Osteria Giulia received one Michelin Star and won the Exceptional Cocktails Award
Enoteca Sociale and Wynona won a Michelin Bib Gourmand
Not only are these restaurants known for their incredible menu but they are also part of the city’s Italian community. We are very happy to have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of these restaurants in the past for various events.
Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto
Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto, together with Chef Daniele Corona and their outstanding culinary team participated in a variety of True Italian Taste events. We also had the amazing opportunity to interview Michelin Star father and son team, Chef Ernesto and Chef Alfonso Iaccarino, who helped bring Don Alfonso 1890 to Toronto. The original Don Alfonso 1890 is located on the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy. During this year’s Pentola d’Oro Awards Gala dinner, taking place on Friday November 18th 2022 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, we are excited to have the opportunity to celebrate the culinary excellence of the Campania region and the Amalfi Coast.
Congratulations to the entire Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto team on their first Michelin Star!
Osteria Giulia
During last year’s annual ICCO Canada Pentola d’Oro Awards Gala dinner, owner of Osteria Giulia David Minicucci and Chef Rob Rossi received the Innovative Entrepreneur Award for Giulietta Restaurant, which is part of their group of restaurants in the city. Giulietta Restaurant is also part of the 74 restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide in Toronto.
