The Wine Side of Italy (Part 2)

Part 2 of 4 – Marche

Food and wine critic Luca Iaccarino had the chance to visit the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region, to discover the Pecorino grape variety, a white grape typical of the southern part of this region. Iaccarino’s mission is to discover less known native Italian wines of outstanding quality. After his trip to Puglia he continued his travel across Italy to discover the hidden wine gems of this country.

Iaccarino met with a local tavern owner in Offida (Marche), who introduced him to the area and its native grape, Pecorino, and he sat down with certified sommelier Marica Spuria for a guided wine tasting.

This web series was organized in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association for the True Italian Taste project.
